Derek Soloway will begin his first season in professional baseball as Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Frederick Keys. Soloway, 35, comes to Frederick after graduating with a degree in sports medicine from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in the spring of 2007. Prior to his schooling, Soloway was a member of the Marine Corps for 12 years, retiring as a staff sergeant. Soloway is a certified athletic trainer who worked as an intern with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the summer of 2006. After graduating from Carolina, Soloway was head athletic trainer for the Marine Corps Basketball and Rugby teams stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC.

Personal – Married to the former Kelly Jo Vars of Silver Spring, MD. Has two children: Christian and Chandler
