BATS SILENT AFTER YESTERDAY’S OUTBURST
Frederick Shutout in Roadtrip’s Opener

A day after busting out with a season high 12 runs the Keys could not string together base hits putting just one runner in scoring position in the contest as they were shutout 4-0 by Lynchburg before the rains ended the game in eight innings. The loss was the first time the Keys have been shutout in 2008.

Frederick could not muster a run against the highest drafted player in the Carolina League Daniel Moskos. Last year’s #4 pick pitched 6 and 2/3rd scoreless innings for his most impressive start of the 2008 season. The Keys were only able to register six hits and they were all singles against the left-handed starter.

Keys starter Pedro Beato worked four innings, allowing just one hit and an unearned run in the loss. Reliever Scott Mueller pitched well working two scoreless innings of relief before the Hillcats opened it up with three runs in the seventh inning.

In Frederick’s stretch of 15 of 18 games away from home the Keys now have a 5-6 record.

The trip continues Friday, May 9th in Lynchburg at 6:05 p.m. at City Stadium. Frederick returns home Friday, May 16th for a fireworks night at Harry Grove Stadium with first pitch against Lynchburg set for 7:00 p.m. For tickets contact the Keys Box Office at 1-877-8-GO-KEYS or purchase online at frederickkeys.com.
