DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN
Double Digit Hit Totals Not Enough in 3-2 Loss
The Keys had many opportunities Sunday afternoon at Ernie Shore Field but could never quite break through in a 3-2 loss to Winston-Salem. The defeat marked the third in a row for Frederick (9-7) and the first time the Keys have dropped a series in 2008. The Keys led again scoring in the fifth inning to break a scoreless tie when 2B Miguel Abreu singled home 3B Todd Davison. DH Matt Wieters would double home a run in the sixth inning to put the Keys atop 2-0. Wieters went 2-for-4 with two doubles in the contest. But Winston-Salem had the answer in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Warthogs got a solo home run from 1B Brandon Allen and a two-run home run from RF Anderson Gomes to take the lead at 3-2. Frederick, who tallied nine hits in a 3-2 loss Saturday night had ten hits in the loss Sunday. Frederick returns home to take on the Wilmington Blue Rocks Monday, April 21st at 7:00 p.m. It is Kids Eat Free Monday presented by Giant Eagle.
