KEYS RUN OUT OF FUEL IN 16 INNING LOSS
Amador Has To Pitch and Allows Winning Run
In a marathon series with the Kinston Indians the finale topped them all. The Keys and Indians played into the night, equal at every turn until Keys OF Chris Amador was summoned for the 16th inning where he couldn't hold on and Frederick fell 6-5. The Keys blew the lead twice in extra innings as they took a 4-2 lead in the tenth inning. Amador, who went 3-for-7 on the night, singled home 2B Miguel Abreu to give the Keys the lead. Amador would later score on a throwing error. The Keys had to rally to tie the game in the ninth. RF Brandon Tripp, PH Matt Wieters and 3B Todd Davison singled with two down to tie the game at 2-2. The game fell one inning short of the longest in Keys history. Frederick played a 17-inning game with Prince William at Harry Grove Stadium July 18, 1993. The Keys now head to Myrtle Beach for a weekend series with the Pelicans. First pitch is Friday, April 11th at 7:00 p.m. Frederick returns home to face Salem April 14th for Kids Eat Free Monday.
