KEYS HANG ON TO WIN 8-7
Indians Leave Winning Runner in Scoring Position

The Frederick Keys staved off a Kinston rally to hang on to an 8-7 win in their first trek away from Harry Grove Stadium in 2008.
Frederick led 4-0 and 7-2 but the Indians would not go away as they rallied to put the potential winning run in scoring position before Keys closer Jason Burch elicited a groundout back to the mound to finally put an end to the marathon affair.

The Keys benefitted from four Kinston errors, plating five unearned runs in the contest including the game;s first three to lead 3-0. Quickly following 1B Chris Vinyard left the year quickly pulling a home run to left field to give Frederick a 4-0 lead.

But the Keys could never breathe easily.

The Indians scored five runs with two outs to stay alive in the game. They would score five runs on the Keys bullpen which worked just four innings.

Keys starter Jake Renshaw (1-0) making his first start in the Orioles organization allowed just one hit in five innings to pick up the win.

The Keys continue their first road trip of 2008 in Kinston Wednesday April 9th at 7:00 p.m. Frederick will return home for Kids Eat Free Monday the 14th to take on the Salem Avalanche at 7:00 p.m. For tickets contact the Keys Box Office during regular business hours at 1-877-8-GO-KEYS or purchase online at frederickkeys.com.
